Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR)
In Uganda, where 25% of adolescent girls become pregnant before 18 and 77% of the population is under 30, ADRIVUYO Uganda recognizes that investing in youth sexual reproductive health rights is essential for national development. Young people face significant challenges including limited access to youth-friendly services, high rates of unplanned pregnancies, rising HIV infections among adolescents, and cultural taboos that prevent open discussions about sexuality—with these issues disproportionately affecting out-of-school youth and adolescents in rural areas.

ADRIVUYO Uganda has established youth-friendly spaces where young people can access confidential SRHR services without judgment, trained peer educators to conduct age-appropriate sexuality education, and implemented advocacy efforts that amplify young people's voices in policy discussions. Our "Second Chance Education" program provides both academic support and SRHR information for girls who have dropped out of school due to pregnancy, while our community dialogues with parents and cultural leaders build supportive environments where young people's reproductive rights are respected.

In Wakiso District, our integrated model combines SRHR service delivery with economic empowerment, addressing both health needs and the economic factors that often drive risky sexual behavior, resulting in a 35% reduction in unplanned pregnancies and 60% increase in contraceptive uptake. To overcome persistent stigma and reach isolated communities, we've developed digital platforms for confidential information and deployed mobile clinics, with our WhatsApp counseling service now reaching over 5,000 young people monthly with accurate SRHR information that empowers informed choices.
